Here is a letter that was written to Hormoz Hekmat, the Managing Editor of "Iran Nameh", a scholarly journal on the history and culture of Iran as it existed before the recent Islamic Revolution in Iran, inviting him to study, share, and translate into Persian the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him). And to view his effort in this direction as being about the true history and culture of Iran, as well as its true future, to view it as being a very real part of disseminating the gift of God for our age to Iran, to Iraq, to the Middle East, and to all of the Children of God living in the world today, which is all of us living in the world today, if we want it, if we truly want to be God's Child, if we truly are willing to give up being satan's child. To view it as being a part of the gift of God for our age that has naturally flowed into our age from previous ages, from the life and teaching of the Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and peacefulness of Allah be upon Him), and of His Companions, including Imam Ali (may God be pleased with Him). And later of Qutb Muhaiyaddeen Abdul-Qadir al-Jilani (may God be pleased with Him), the "Flower of Baghdad", who over a 1000 years ago open and melted the hearts of the wise men of Baghdad, causing them to offer up their necks to His divine foot. And finally becoming in our age the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) and of the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with each of Us), which is all of us living in the world today, if that be our true intention. All of this is the gift of God for our age, is the life and teaching of God for our age, which God has personally and ever so lovingly placed both within each of us before we were born, and "outside" of us in the world we now see, as a finger pointing to what God has placed within each of us, as a gift that is experienced on the "outside" of us as the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.), and of the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.), a gift that is the key to unraveling the problems of our own life, and to unraveling the problems of the world that we see "outside" of us, since in truth they are the same problem, the problem of moving from our "separation and differences" to our "Oneness and unity", to our "Justice and Truth", and to our "Compassion and Unity", the problem of moving from "false man" to "True Man" Text of Spiritual Letter: 1. We watched the program on C-Span today, on 9-26-03, "Political Development and Politics in Iran", with Sayyid Hossein Khomeini, and was very pleased with the comments Mr. Khomeini made about the situation in Iran, and his suggestions to solve the problems and the difficulties that we are currently having in Iran, in Iraq, and throughout the Middle East, and for that matter, throughout the world in the 21st Century. 2. The Purpose of This Letter, of Spiritual Letter 54 - the purpose of this letter is to thank you, to congratulate you, to share something very important with you, to ask a favor of you, and to ask you to tell Mr. Khomeini a few things for me We would like to thank you for your work in getting Mr. Khomeini on the C-Span program and for your translation of what he said. It is very important that his perspective on Iran, and of many others like him are heard in America, as well as in Iran and Iraq, and throughout the Middle East, so that the American people, and the current Administration in Washington follow the correct course of action with regards to Iran and Iraq, which is to join with people like you and Mr. Khomeini to bring peace and stability to the Middle East. And to do this "Divine Work" through our faith and trust in God, and in God alone, not through our faith and trust in ourselves and in our brothers and sisters, or in our race or religion, or in our institutions, not through our faith and trust in ourselves and in our brothers and sisters as living "separate from" God and "separate from" each other, recognizing that the only real enemy in Iran and Iraq, in the Middle East, and throughout the world, is the "separations and differences" that we have allowed to grow within our own hearts. This is the enemy that will eventually destroy us, this is the "beast within" that we are all now nourishing by our every look, our every word, by our every thought, intention, and action. May we both think about this wisdom point a little, my dearest loving brother Hormoz Hekmat. It is very, very important. Also, we would like to congratulate you on the wonderful work you have done as Managing Editor of "Iran Nameh", and as a member of the "Foundation for Iranian Studies. We visited your Web Site (www.fis-iran.org) and found it very helpful in understanding the history and culture of Iran before the recent Islamic Revolution in Iran, providing a necessary balance to the current world's perspective of Iran, a perspective more and more polarized around the Islamic Revolution in Iran, rather than the rich history and culture of Iran that has helped shape the current world we now all inhabit. In addition, we would like to share with you a little bit about the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), a Holy Man who came to America in 1971, and who for the next 15 years until His death in 1986, taught us about the true meaning of Islam, of Judaism, of Christianity, of Zoroasterism, and of Hinduism. In this way, teaching us the essence of the four great religions of the world, allowing us, if we like, to transcend all of them, and move on, move on with what the 124,000 Prophets of God have been telling us to do, over and over again, throughout the ages, to every people, culture and race, since the coming of Adam (peace be upon Him) and of Eve (peace be upon Her) into the world over 200 million years ago. And what is this message that we have all been told, over and over again, what is this essence of the four great religions of the world, that in truth will set us free? Well it is very simple, if we have but the heart to accept it. His Holiness, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) said it this way, "Stop working for wages to get into heaven, you will be very disappointed. Instead join in partnership with God." That's it, my dearest loving brother Hormoz Hekmat, that is all we have to do, to transform our current life of "separation and differences", our current life of "separation from" God, of "separation from" each other, and of "separation from" the Creation of God within us, into a life of "Oneness and Unity", into the state of Tawhid, the principle tenet of Islam, which is the affirmation of the Unity of Allah in all that we do, into the state of "Iman-Islam", which is the absolute, complete, and unshakable faith, certitude, and determination that God alone exists; the complete acceptance of the heart that God is One. We have to give up our own life as "separate from" God, as "separate from" each other, and as "separate from" the Creation of God within us, that God has personally and ever so lovingly placed within each of us even before we were born into this earth world, into the world that we now see in our ignorance as existing "outside" of us. And we have to join in partnership with God within us, we have to join with God in what He is currently doing within us, within each one of us, which is revealing True Man within the Creation of God within us. Allowing True Man within us, once He has been revealed by God within us, to then reveal God within the Creation of True Man within us, which is the firdaus or 8th heaven of Muhammad (may the peace and peacefulness of God be upon Him) within us, which is the Kingdom of God within us. In this way, revealing the "Oneness of God and True Man" within us, which in truth is God and True Man within us. Amen, Amen, Ya Rabil Alameen. Amen, Amen, Ya Rahman Alameen. Amen, Amen, Ya Rahim Alameen. Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar. And next, we would like to ask a favor of you my dearest loving brother Hormoz Hekmat. We would like you to start to study the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), which is the gift of God for our age, to the Children of God for our age, which is all of us living in this age, if we want it. Please join in partnership with God within you, and in this way, start to study the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) within you, and in this way, please start to see this gift of God for our age as completing the true history and culture of Iran, as completing what God has been doing in that part of the world for the last 200 million years. Please start to see this gift for our age as completing the life and teaching of the first and last Prophet of God, of our Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and peacefulness of God be upon Him), as completing the life and teaching of Imam Ali (may God be pleased with Him), the son-in-law of the Prophet, and as completing the life and teaching of Qutb Muhaiyaddeen Abdul-Qadir al-Jilani (may God be pleased with Him), who brought the most subtle wisdom of God to that part of the world over 1000 years ago, entering Baghdad as the "Flower of Wisdom", causing all of the wise men of that time in Baghdad, except for one, to place their necks under His divine foot. This is the favor that this small child asks of my dearest older brother, of my loving brother Hormoz Hekmat, please join in partnership with God within you to start to study and learn the teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) within you, and once you do, then through God's grace your heart will open and melt to the gift of God for our age. Then start to share this beautiful life and teaching with your family and friends in America, and in Iran, then translate some of it into Persian, and get these "Golden Words of A Sufi Shaikh", which is the title of one of the books by His Holiness, published in Iran, in Iraq, and throughout the Middle East. Please set you intention to do this "Heart's Work" my dearest loving brother, and then surrender the responsibility to complete it to Allah, and be peaceful with the outcome, whatever it may be, and wherever it may take you, realizing at all times, as His Holiness teaches, that, "We are all sitting on God's lap and our wisdom is teaching us 'What we do not know'". And as His Holiness, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), teaches us, "Live with the faith that your body and soul do not belong to you. Then God will share the suffering that comes to you." "Place you trust in God all the time, and in each moment say, 'O God, this is Your responsibility, Your duty'". "One who was been born as a man, and has lived as a man will exist in this state. For whatever happens he will say with contentment and gratitude, 'Al-hamdu lillah', all praise and praising belong to God and to God alone". "And for what might come in the next moment, he will say, Tawwakul Allah, 'Oh God, it is Your responsibility". "And praise Him." And finally, we would like to ask you to deliver a message to our dearest loving brother Sayyid Hossein Khomeini (may God be please with Him). Please tell him that this child, Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler), which is the name His Holiness gave to this child in 1980, loves him very, very much, and that he and his family and friends are always in my prayers. Please tell him that we read the interview that he and Sayyid Iyad Jamaleddine gave to Mr. Thomas L. Friedman last month, a columnist for the New York Times who was in Iraq. We read what he said in an article that was published in the New York Times by Mr. Friedman on 8/09/03. Please tell him that his words gave me a lot of peace. They were and are very good words of wisdom, and of faith in God. They are the words of a true believer in God, of one who trusts and believes in the words and commandments of Allah. Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar. Please tell him that we wrote Mr. Friedman a letter about the article, and asked him to forward the letter to both Mr. Khomeini and to Mr. Jamaleddine. However we have not heard back from Mr. Friedman, so we do not know if he ever received the letter from this child. Background on The Letter To Mr. Khomeini, of Spiritual Letter 50 - a letter that we would like you to read, study, translate, and give to Mr. Khomeini, and to others of a similar nature in America and in the Middle East Mr. Thomas L. Friedman, of the New York Times, recently interviewed Mr. Khomeini in Iraq, and based on that interview he published an article in the Editorial Section of the New York Times on 8/9/03, with the title, "Dinner With the Sayyids", in which many of the same comments made by Mr. Khomeini in the C-Span program where presented to Mr. Friedman. Based on that article we wrote a letter to Mr. Friedman, to Mr. Khomeini, and to Mr. Iyad Jamaleddine of Iraq, who also took part in the interview with Mr. Friedman, explaining to the three of them the significance of something that happened in America, specifically in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in America, from 1971 to 1986, that very few people in America and in the world know about, that is of critical importance in resolving the problems that we are currently facing in Iraq, in Iran, in the Middle East, and throughout the world today, the problem of overcoming our "separation and differences" and learning to live in peace and unity with each other, allowing God to complete God's intention for having created us. In that letter, we tried to introduce the three of them to the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), who came to America in 1971 and until His death in 1986 taught us again, and for the last time, about the message that all of the 124,000 Prophets of God have brought to us, over and over again, for the last 200 million years, since Adam (peace be upon Him) and Eve (peace be upon Her) came into the world, the message of the Kalimah, of the affirmation of our faith or Iman in Allah, and the message of Tawhid, of the affirmation of the Unity of Allah, the principal tenet of Islam, but this time without any veils. Text of Topic: The gift of God for our age, which on the "outside" of us we experience as the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.), provides us with the key to solving the problems within ourselves, and within the world that we currently see as existing outside of us, in Iran, in Iraq, in the Middle East, and throughout the world today because it clearly identifies the source of all these problem. It clearly defines the source of all our problems, both personally and in the world, which is each of us living within our mind and desires, trying to live as if we existed "separate from" God, "separate from" each other, and "separate from" the Creation of God within us, when in truth within our wisdom within us, we are "One with" God, "One with" each other, and "One with" the Creation of God within us, we are all One within our wisdom within us, whether we know it or not, whether we like it or not, even whether we want it or not. For in truth, this is our true birthright, our true heritage, the true destiny of our soul, that has been hidden by God within our mind and desire, within our false life of "separation and differences" that we see in our ignorance as existing on the "outside" us, for in truth we are all One, because in truth, God is One. Why now? Why the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.) now? Because now we are ready, now we are ready to hear the truth of God, and make our choice, a choice between God and the world, a choice between "Oneness and Unity" and "separation and differences". His Holiness, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) explained it to us one day in this way, "At the end of time, which is now, God would send one who will explain again everything that had been explained before by all of the Prophets of God, since the beginning of time, but this time with no veils." "Everyone would hear it, everyone would understand it, and all that will be left is do they want it. Do they want an eternal life of 'separation from' God, or an eternal life of 'Oneness with' God. The choice is theirs." And Bawa went on to explain that "no choice" is a choice, a choice to continue living a life of "separation and differences" with our brothers and sisters in the world that we collectively see in our ignorance as existing "outside" of us, a choice that will only lead us to the Angel of Death (peace be upon Him), to the suffering of the grave, to Qiyamah (the Standing Forth; the Day of Judgment), and to an eternal life of "separation from" God. 5. And to become even sweeter as we think of this is Islam." "If we understand God's qualities, we will find them so sweet. If we act with God's actions, they will be sweet." "When we embrace our brothers and sisters with those actions and with trust, we will realize what happiness is and know the goodness that comes from it." "As we embrace each brother and sister heart to heart, helping them in whatever way they need, we will know what joy and goodness are." Like this, my dearest loving brother Hormoz Hekmat, this letter to you, and through you, to our dearest loving brother Sayyid Hossein Khomeini, is the embrace of your brother Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler), heart to heart, with you, with your family and friends, and with all of our brothers and sister living in America, in Iran, in Iraq, and throughout the Middle East, and throughout the world. This is the true meaning of Islam, of Judaism, of Christianity, of Zoroasterism, and of Hinduism, this is the essence of all religions that we have been told by each of the 124,000 Prophets of God (may God be pleased with all of His Prophets), and now by Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him, and by the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with each of Us) to become. May we both think about this a little. It is very, very important. Please give my love and salams to your family and friends, and please tell them that Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler) loves them very, very much, and that they are in my prayers, and please share this letter to you, Spiritual Letter 54, with them, and please share the letter to Mr. Friedman, Mr. Khomeini, and Mr. Jamaleddine, Spiritual Letter 50, also with them. Please do this "Heart's Work", my dearest loving brother Hormoz Hekmat, for only in sharing what God has placed in front of us does it in truth become firmly established within us, and stay with us for eternity. Otherwise, His Holiness teaches us, without sharing our blessings from God with all of our brothers and sisters with an open and melting heart, what we learn becomes like writing on water which disappears as soon as it is written, leaving no trace of what was written. We will never be able to benefit from that kind of learning, and neither will anyone else. We must think about this. What we learn must be firmly established within us, and written within us in a way that will stick. And only if we stay with a true Shaikh, with Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.) will we be able to do this. Only if we stay with the grace, the wisdom, and the 'ilm or divine knowledge of God for our age, with our Father, our Shaikh, and our Guru for our age, which in truth is the form of the Triple Flame of God for our age - Ya Allah, Ya Rasul, Ya Muhaiyaddeen - will we be able to do this. And for this age, that form of the Triple Flame of God within each of us is His Holiness, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), and on the "outside" of us is the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), and of the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with each of Us), and all of this is the gift of God for our age for the Children of God for our age, which is each of us living in this age, if we want it. Please look into this truth about your own life, and about the world we share on the "outside" of us, my dearest loving brother Hormoz Hekmat. Please do this divine work of joining in partnership with God within us, giving up the thought that "there is something that I have to do", as "separate from" God, give up this thought of "separation and differences" before it is too late, before we die in the state of "separation and differences", in the state of "separation from" God, of "separation from" each other, and of "separation from" the Creation of God within us, and must experience the Angel of Death (peace be upon Him), the suffering of the grave, Qiyamah (the Standing Forth; the Day of Judgment), and an eternal life of "separation from" God. Please do this divine work of joining in partnership with God within us, allowing God to finish what He has started within each of us, which is Muhammad (Sal.), and within that to reveal True Man within the Creation of God, and within that to reveal God within the Creation of True Man, and in this way, to reveal the "Oneness of God and True Man" within us, my dearest loving brother Hormoz Hekmat. And may we do all of this divine work within us before the "beast" that is growing within each of us comes out of one of us, destroying the world "outside" of us for all of us, before "Muhammad (Sal.)" that is also growing within each of us comes out of one of us, and destroys the "beast" within all of us. For if the "beast" makes it out of one of us before "Muhammad (Sal.)" makes it out of one of us, then it is too late for all of us, and we must follow the path of 105 million rebirths within us, ending as a worm in hell with only one level of consciousness. May we both think about this a little, my dearest loving brother Hormoz Hekmat, as it is very, very important. Finally, please forgive my, my dearest loving brother Hormoz Hekmat, if there is anything in this letter that is wrong or that offends you, or your family and friends. This child is a fool and I am only sharing with you what this child has learned living at the feet of our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) for 28 years. And as Bawa tells us on page 7, in the Forward of the beautiful book of wisdom, "The Pearl of Wisdom", which He gave to us in 1946, right after the last great war on "separation and differences", "Let those who are knowledgeable correct any fault.
